Ham test
[Thomas Hale Ham, U.S. physician, 1905-1987]
A test for diagnosing paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria, in which red cells are assessed for resistance to lysis during incubation with acidified serum. This test has been largely replaced by flow cytometry.
